From the moment they are born, infants are ready to learn through meaningful interactions with the people who care for them. Research shows that 85% of a child’s brain is developed during the first three years of life, and neural connections that are not formed in the brain during these early years are lost forever. Here at BBKA our infant program is designed to build on five areas of development: language, physical, cognitive, social and emotional, with an emphasis on language development and sensory exploration. Babies learn largely through their senses. Their eyes, ears, hands and mouth are their tools. As babies grow, they learn to use their bodies to make discoveries. Our teachers make sure that they have many engaging activities that let them do just that. Whether it’s allowing them to learn to reach, grab, scoot or roll over from tummy time on the floor, interacting during story time and “conversations” with the caregiver, or being messy and creative with art supplies and sensory materials, rest assured that your infant is learning, growing and having fun. The curriculum we use is Frog Street Infants, which gives the teachers the equipment to foster essential growth and build a strong learning foundation. It allows the teacher to provide an individualized learning plan for each student to maximize their growth, learning skills and reach their full potential.
